The Pak American Safety Patrol

The Pak American Safety Patrol is a department of the Allama Iqbal Community Center (AICC) and was founded ten years ago to ensure the safety and security of the Pakistani community living in New York City.

The patrol consists of proactive volunteer Pakistani civilians who work to combat various crimes, provide support to victims of crime, and help locate missing persons. Mr. Malik Nasir Awan, chairman of AICC and an NYPD senior Community Police Liaison, played a significant role in establishing this department.

Pak American Safety Patrol provides an essential service to the Pakistani community and has contributed to the reduction of crime in the area :

Inspired by the success of the Jewish community patrol service, Shomrim, the Pak American Safety Patrol provides an essential service to the Pakistani community and has contributed to the reduction of crime in the area. Although unarmed and without the authority to make arrests, the patrol car is available on the streets for several hours of the day and night to provide a quick response time to the community.

The patrol has been crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the Pakistani community in New York City, especially in areas where minority communities are disproportionately affected by crime. By providing a visible and accessible presence in the community, the patrol has helped to deter crime and reduce the fear of crime in the area. This has resulted in benefits not just for the community but also for local businesses.

The Allama Iqbal Community Center (AICC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Pakistani American community in the United States.

The Pak American Safety Patrol has also played a vital role in building trust between the community and law enforcement :

The Pak American Safety Patrol has also played a vital role in building trust between the community and law enforcement. Through its collaboration with the NYPD, the patrol has been able to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the Pakistani community, providing a much-needed sense of security and support to the community.

In conclusion, the Pak American Safety Patrol, established with the personal interest and efforts of Mr. Malik Nasir Awan, has proven to be an effective and necessary service for the Pakistani community in New York City. Its success is a testament to the importance of community-led initiatives in addressing the specific safety concerns of minority communities.
